Gerrys journey in photography began when he was a boy with a dark room in his cupboard. He continued his hobby for over twenty years as a high - end amateur photographer. After emigrating to New Zealand in 1999 Gerry saw the opportunity to realize his dream of making photography his profession and established his own photography studio in 2001.

In 2006 he passed the demanding certification requirements for membership of the New Zealand Institute of Professional Photographers (NZIPP) and has gone on from there to win a number of awards. His membership is your guarantee of professional quality and integrity.

Gerrys portraiture portfolio includes new born babies, toddlers, children, families, pregnancy shots, couples, and weddings. He especially enjoys photographing babies and children, with their beautiful little bodies, multitude of expressions and displays of affection and fun. Since 2001 the studio has been involved in the Photokids Portrait Contest, which means that hundreds of children ranging from birth to nineteen years have had something unique created for them at Prime Photography. All of these entrants have helped to raise funds for Cure Kids " Child Health Research.

Gerry takes an artistic and creative approach to all of his portraiture. Whether its capturing the giggle of a baby, the dark sultry mood of a teen or the affection of a family. Where applicable every completed image is art worked to create something that is timeless and beautiful. None of his work is mass produced with every image art worked individually.

One of Gerrys strengths is his versatility " he offers outdoor and indoor shoots and can create something bright and cheerful or dark and thoughtful depending on the subject.

Gerry also creates product portfolios for commercial use with great attention paid to detail.
